Certain substances and foods, such as tea, wine or tobacco smoking, can lead to discolouration of the teeth. With the help of teeth whitening methods, you can lighten your teeth and bring out their natural whiteness - for a radiant smile.
In contrast to over-the-counter products, bleaching is carried out by a dentist under professional supervision. We only use medically tested materials that enable safe and even whitening without irritating the gums or causing excessive tooth sensitivity.
Before the treatment, we will check in a detailed consultation whether bleaching is sensible and safe for you. Prior professional teeth cleaning is recommended in order to achieve the best possible result.
It is important that caries or inflammation of the gums is treated before bleaching.
Home bleaching
With home bleaching, customised trays are made to fit you perfectly. The bleaching trays, into which bleaching agent is inserted, are usually worn for 1-2 hours, and the process can be repeated a few times as required. The bleaching trays can usually be used for numerous procedures.
In-office bleaching
With this method, the teeth are whitened in the dental practice, i.e. the bleaching agent is applied by dental staff or carried out in the dental practice. The in-office method uses stronger bleaching agents, which makes the bleaching process quicker and more efficient. As a rule, one session is sufficient to achieve the desired result.
Internal bleaching (for discoloured, root-treated teeth)
After root canal treatment, a tooth can become dark in colour from the inside. In such cases, the bleaching agent is applied directly to the inside of the tooth. The tooth is then temporarily sealed and reopened after a few days until the desired light colour is achieved. This method is only suitable for individual, devitalised (root-treated) teeth.
